Gary Smith

Gary has been a journalist for 30 years, working in many different fields and three countries.

He is a top-class journalist who is equally capable of writing a feature story on cricket, a theatre review or a travel yarn as he is turning his hand to editing a newspaper or magazine.

Gary has spent the past 17 years working for the News Ltd organisation, working on many of its titles including The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Telegraph, and The Australian. In that time, he worked as a sub-editor, travel writer, arts writer and sports reporter. He was also one of the hand-picked team of editors working during the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
