AUTHOR! AUTHOR! This
is one of our most exciting Courses!
An excellent Course
that offers you a unique opportunity to develop a full or part-time
career writing for film, television and video. A popular highlight
of this Course is the comprehensive information on writing screenplays
for Hollywood.
With this Course we
will take you on a vast journey of learning - from developing script
ideas through to the art of professional writing, layout and format
procedures to those long-awaited two words . . . 'THE END'!
We've all heard
stories about the cruel movie business. Writing scripts is a hard
way to make a living but a fine way to starve right? Not once you
know how to go about it! As you'll discover, the demand for
script writers is increasing daily.
Pay TV is straining
the resources of Australian scriptwriters. As is the introduction
of TV infomercials.
The increasing calls
for additional Australian content on TV is also creating more and
more opportunities for scriptwriters. So, too, is the increasing
popularity of the Australian film industry both here and internationally.
We only have to witness
the explosive market demand for sales, corporate and training videos
to understand that, in today's competitive market, reliable
script writers are now hot property.
This Course will show
you how to write screenplays, telemovies, television series episodes,
sitcoms and soaps, documentaries, advertising commercials, corporate,
training and 'how to' videos.

To support
and further the aims of Professional Scriptwriting students of the
Australian College of Journalism, the Australian Writers' Guild
is providing six free six-month memberships for the most outstanding
scripts submitted in this Course in 2004.
The Australian
Writers' Guild awarded 5 memberships in 2003 to students, who were
thrilled that their scripts had been chosen.
If the successful
students are already members of the Guild, then their existing membership
will be extended for a further period of six months.
Script assessment and the many other benefits of membership for
aspiring and seasoned scriptwriters can be found on the Guild's
website: www.awg.com.au
The AWG is the professional
association for all performance writers, that is, writers for film,
television, radio, theatre, video and new media. The AWG was established
in 1962 and is recognised throughout the industry in Australia as
being the voice of performance writers.
Information about
this membership opportunity along with the names of the winning
students will be posted on the College website in the sponsorships
pages.
Outstanding scripts
will be selected by the College. The judges decision is final and
no further correspondence will be entered it.
