Australian News Syndicate Pty Ltd
(ANS) is the sponsor of our Colleges and provides educational grants,
scholarships, subsidised learning programs.
As a student support initiative, ANS
has developed and implemented an employment experience program to
assist students in study and post-study to gain valuable real work
experience with the aim of enhancing their employment opportunities.
Under this program, the College does
not actively find employment experience placements for students;
students are encouraged to use their initiative find and arrange
their own placements and the College provides the insurances and
support mechanisms to facilitate their success.
The College also accepts requests
for placements and posts them on the Student Discussion Forum, an
online bulletin board accessed by students and graduates.
Employment experience involves providing
adults with practical and relevant experience in the workplace,
in an area related to their chosen career. Because it is an adult
program, as opposed to a youth work experience program, employment
experience is designed to give participants real on-the-job skills
that can benefit them in gaining sustainable employment.
