Terms & Conditions of Enrolment

The Australian College of Journalism (ACJ)/Cengage Education Terms and Conditions of Enrolment form part of the Student Agreement which serves as the contract between the student and ACJ/Cengage Education. You are required to read, sign and return a copy of the Student Agreement before you are enrolled in an ACJ course.

The Student Agreement is part of your Priority Enrolment Form. Once you have read the Terms and Conditions and signed the agreement, you must return the form to:

Laptop Computer Giveaway – January-March 2010.

  1. Information on how to enter forms part of the conditions of entry. Entry to this promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. Entry is open to Australian residents only. Employees and immediate families of Cengage Education are not eligible to enter.
  3. To qualify, students must be enrolled by the deadline date of the offer (14 days from the date printed on the enrolment form). The enrolment form must bear a stamp of eligibility. The enrolment form must be signed in agreement with the terms and conditions of enrolment.
  4. Entry is open to all students enrolling in a Cengage Education or Australian College of Journalism course.
  5. The judge’s decision is final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.
  6. The competition commences January 4, 2010 and closes March 31, 2010.
  7. There will be a total of 3 prize draws (one for each month of Jan, Feb and March), each selecting 5 winners. The draws will be conducted on the 15th of Feb, 15th of Mar and 14th of April 2010 respectively at 10.00am at the offices of Cengage Education – Level 1, 1 Waltham Street, ARTARMON NSW 2064. All eligible entries have an equal chance of winning.
  8. The winners each receive a Toshiba L300 Laptop computer, featuring a C2D-T6670 2.2GHz processor (2.2GHz, 800MHz FSB, 2MB L2 cache), Windows Vista Business 32bit (OEM) with Windows XP Professional Media, 2GB memory (expandable to 4GB), 250GB hard drive (5400rpm), DVD SuperMulti Drive, 15.4 inch Widescreen TFT Active display, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator GM45, 3xUSB2.0 slots, integrated media slot and integrated webcam.
  9. Each laptop is valued at $884; total prize value of the giveaways is $13,260 (inc GST).
  10. Each winner will be notified by mail and by phone on 15th of Feb, 15th of Mar and 14th of April 2010 respectively and announced in The Australian newspaper on 19th of Feb, 19th of Mar and 16th of April 2010 respectively.
  11. Prize is not redeemable for cash.
  12. The name and state of residence of the winners may be published by Cengage Education in future promotional material unless notified otherwise.
  13. If any prizes are unclaimed, an unclaimed prize draw will be held on the 14th of July, 2010 at Cengage Education, Level 1, 1 Waltham Street, ARTARMON NSW 2064.
